Our DC Connection grew up in the Bay Area in California and relocated with her family to North Carolina where she finished college. She started her writing career during her junior year of high school and by her senior year she was the Arts & Entertainment Editor for the campus paper, The Wolfprint.
By college she still had journalism dreams. While attending Sonoma State University she bacame the Arts & Entertainment Editor for their campus paper, The Star. She was able to secure some interesting interviews like one with Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Mighty BossTones out of Boston, MA.
Once in North Carolina she focused on graduating college and began writing music reviews for online music magazines. She is a huge supporter of local music and enjoyed helping to promote bands with her reviews. From selling merch for Carbon Leaf out of Richmond, VA to seling merch and hitting the road with the Lloyd Dobler Effect out of Silver Spring, MD in 2005. These adventures only helped to enrich her writing. In the midst, she became the editor of online music magazine, Blue Tint Magaizne where she coordinated reviews from writers from other cites around the country. After the magazine folded, she freelanced for a local newspaper in Raleigh, NC.
Writing has always been a passion of hers and she is looking forward to combining her love of writing, food, and wine on one blog!
