Moving on

I’m sure that many of you are aware that for over a year and a half I worked at Chrysalis Vineyards in Middleburg, Virginia. I am very sorry to say that my time there will be coming to an end. I will be taking several weeks off then at the beginning of November I will begin my new position at Fabbioli Cellars in Leesburg, Virginia.

I would like to say that I am very much going to miss working at Chrysalis. The people and the atmosphere there made it very much a fun place to work while still maintaining high standards for the level of expertise on wine that the staff brought into play, both for ourselves and for the public we worked with. I am also going to miss many of the regular customers and club members that I have gotten to know over the time that I worked there.

I am though, very excited over this new position at Fabbioli Cellars. The challenges of wine education here for both the staff and the public are distinctly different from those at Chrysalis and with added responsibility in the tasting room, I will be provided with plenty of surprises. The current staff and the owners are a close knit family and it will also be a challenge to fit in with the dynamic already established amongst the peers.

I haven’t divorced myself completely from Chrysalis though. I still enjoy their wines and the company there, I’m sure if you look carefully you’ll spot me lazing in the sun by Sarah’s grave.
